Lasers have changed the way many patients feel about having their teeth restored. I won't say I use the laser on every case. There are cases where I do not feel the laser it the best option. However, there are many situations where we are able to use the laser to completely prepare a tooth without anesthetic and, yes, without pain.
Currently we cannot remove older silver or amalgam restorations with the laser. We can remove tooth colored restorations that may be failing with a laser. Many new cavities can be restored using the laser.
